… and “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me..”
This is a thought that is constantly on my mind, despite finding my own answers and writing them down in Wise El’s Big Thoughts and Wise El on God (some images from my books shown above).
Of course, I believe we are all one – but at a cellular, microscopic level. Yes, enough of those cells can mass together to form a ‘you’ or a ‘me’, but we each ripple to our individual programmes – otherwise we would be little more than robots, automatons. A Borg mind.
So how to help, for example, the Calais Migrants?
Letting all those currently in Calais (and the many more who want to) come here is not the answer on a spiritual or metaphysical level. Much like letting people spend their entire lives on Welfare.
In my spiritual view it is wrong because it is not strengthening these souls/cells but turning them into ones that sap the strength out of others while not developing their own in healthy ways. Indeed ways that benefit the whole.
For their sakes, as well as for the individual, and for the whole, we should be helping them regain their sense of self and confidence in their own countries. (And yes there are ways.)
Many of those advocating an open door – and I only think this should be done for those kicked out of their countries, like Jews or Ugandan Asians, not leaving of their own accord – are great fans of the Law of Attraction, Cosmic Ordering, The Secret and other similar metaphysical ideas.
Yet running away from situations is one of the first things taught. If we run away from something, we invariably create it in some way, whether externally or internally. Face fears, face adverse situations.
Will come back to atheism anon…
