is divine, said the poet. My first reaction is to agree. I have and continue to forgive those who have trespassed against me – and hope for the same. But there are some caveats as I’ve previously observed.
For example, the remorse should be genuine and, by that, I mean the kind that is not dragged out of you years later. If it simply never occurs to someone to apologise until the other party points out that you have never said sorry for bad behaviour, I rather think it rates low on being meaningful – at least to me.
