Monday 8: Should presenters (eg Russell Brand) discuss politics? Why not? Their platform is not always one-sided. A jeering or cheering audience can soon make its position clear. So, yes. They should.
Most do not (speak out) because they do not want to lose business. Or they might have a particular reputation to maintain. Others do not, from fear.
Mind body spirit writers generally do not speak out because it might highlight discrepancies in what they teach and how their actual mundane lives unfold. So isnīt it noble of me to share my `discrepanciesī!?!
One of my books is about abundance, for example. (NB the little books are written in a particular style - not like a conventional book. Their time will come - so all those of you who have bought copies, hang on to them. One day they will be valuable first editions. As it is written, so shall it be!!!)
Anyway, re abundance: lack of any kind is, metaphysically, down to lack thoughts. And I do admit to having them from time to time. Too much involvement in the mundane world can also increase lack - especially if predominant thoughts aim to create change. The only way I know when I need to stop and work on my inner resources is when my body starts to protest (oddly, not from looking at my bank statements!)
Generally, I am dismissive of most aches and pains. They soon go. But when tensed muscles and referred pain or a numb finger create chronological factor (age) anxiety, then it definitely is time to stop and still the mind, work on light and affirm religiously. It took a little longer than usual, but after a couple of hours, the inner chaos had calmed somewhat.
Ma though is no happier. And when she is not, neither am I. What to do? If she did go home, all she would do is lie down dozing most of the time, forget to eat and answer the `phone occasionally. The carer is not there 24 hours a day. She does not feed her or wash her or make sure everything is cleaned including her clothes and bed linen. All those are taken care of in this nursing home, so why can she not see that? Yet when I ring again and try and probe more, it is the voices that want her to go; the life inside her. Her lack becomes our lack.
As vegetarianism still attracts lousy jokes, I rather like the theory that carnivores may be exacerbating climate change. Eat meat once a week says Nobel Prize Winner Dr Rajendra Pachauri. Actually, it is greed that is the problem. Meat is not meant to be eaten as much as it is.
And, btw, not all vegetarians are flatulent. I rarely eat foods that make me gaseous (like lentils, broccoli, kidney beans, sugar, wheat etc), hence am a nanomal methane producer!
Re sewage smells - the overflowing one I never did smell - I havenīt had the bill yet and now I read in the paper that the government has announced its intention to transfer ownership of private drainage to water companies. It would then be their responsibilty to maintain them - although obviously we will all pay through our bills. I gather it is unlikely to happen in the next twelve months. PS For anyone else whose enjoyment of the Aurora Borealis was spoiled by Joanna Lumley, (the camera actually stayed on HER lying on the ground rather than the fabulous Northern Lights! Staggering.) here is what we missed.
PPS I think I might have to do without some promo or linky-love options as I strongly object to providing my date of birth for their marketing purposes.
PPPS Do you have days (weeks/months/years!) when all you seem to do is go round in circles? Itīs a(nother) divine joke that my birthday is February 2 (Groundhog Day).
