It took practically all day (yesterday) to scan and mount just fifteen artworks. So much for wanting to spend a whole day creating!
I did have an aside to check on family history.
Reconnecting with many of Ma“s relatives has made me want to find out more of Dad“s. Ma“s original family name was Hindu, prior to Grandpa adopting a new surname, and I am rather confused by all the name changes. So many male relatives have totally different surnames!
However, many of her immediate family are still alive so enlightenment should be easy to achieve. I say `should“ as I never seemed to get straight answers from Ma or Dad, and even family emails go round the houses without actually answering the question. Maybe it“s a NandD genetic thing? Excepting me of course - :*)
With Dad, it may be less easy. His original surname was Lobo and there are gazillions of them in South India. I understand one brother is still alive and living in Grandma Rosemary“s house. So I had a google on Rosemary and Anthony Lobo….
Boy, are there millions of links! Well, a lot. I presume that is the Portuguese missionary effect.
When I go to India next year, I want to spend some time checking into our background. Most odd, given I have never been that interested before. Perhaps it is all to do with increasing CF?
There is potential confusion for anyone in the distant future in the way relatives all seem to be called sister/brother, or mother/father or similar. Even second or third cousins have referred to me as `akka“ (sister) and Ma as their grandma.
The affection is very welcome and returned, but I had only one brother - my beloved Eugene.
Anyway, the aside produced a list of several names and as much information as I have to date. A table makes it easier to work out dependencies!
Spent several hours of today utterly exhausted, without knowing quite why. Shall be chilling out for the rest of the day - the kind that involves snoozing in front of the idiot box. So much for fine plans.
PS You know I remain utterly bemused by that abysmal Manchester `PR“ company who have never responded to ANY emails or calls from me. And, to date, they still have not removed me from their lists.
Good business manners means at least responding to find out why there is an issue. But nothing. Not a peep, let alone an apology. The company is a classic example of success (I presume) achieved through being base and ignorant.
Let“s see if ICO has more effect.
