more memories

wip27 Keith Park Road, RAF Uxbridge. Funny how some addresses remain imprinted in the brain. Good for him - that the Battle of Britain pilot will now have six months on a plinth in Trafalgar Square.

Sunny weather and sunny attitude suddenly, but fleetingly, become veiled in sadness quite often these days. And there are still those moments of past life memories, plus the even less appetising thought of never actually achieving anything worthwhile in life. Of course there is still time. I hope.

Meanwhile: a lot of people seem to muddle the precepts of spiritual metaphysics with Christian ideals of love-thy-neighbour, don“t bear false witness, forgive and so forth.

While the basis is the same (in my spiritual universe), the only really hard and fast rule is cause and effect. Somewhere, at some point in time and space, there will be a balancing of the books.

That does not mean, however, that a physically or mentally less-abled person is being punished for some previous transgression. It might be a spiritual choice to evolve through such challenges.

However, in its basest form, spiritual metaphysics does not actually tell us to show compassion, to love one another and so on. Apart from cause and effect, the primary precept would be to take personal responsibility while still being mindful of the effect on the whole.

There is a marvellous symmetry to it all in that, yes, it is God that is the ultimate judge. But, and this is the big `but“, God is actually the spark within each and every sentient life form, past, present and to come. That“s not only a heck of a lot of God, it also is potentially a lot of mixed messages.

Which brings me to recurring experiences - of God - and other mystical stuff. They are momentary, internal sensory perceptions, the imperceptible reactions of others, little things like that which would have scientists reaching for Randi.

Even worse for believers like me, is how cyclical it can sometimes feel.
