Tuesday 4: Happy Birthday, Marianne!

All is changing relatively easily. Emails are being sent and received with almost no problem, although I had to remember to verify the addresses with BT. Some hiccups with website re-direction coupled with bouncing emails… but all seems on track.

The way those in power spend public money is staggering. They seem to think it is their God-given right to splurge millions on whatever benefits them or something obscure or useless. It rarely seems to be spent on what we the taxpayer intended.

So the appalling Mandelson books a suite for £5,500 per night; Jowell takes a holiday to Brazil (please don´t tell me it was work!); GPs give less and less service and coin in more and more for the teensiest things and what was that about the NHS spending £50,000,000 (yes MILLION) on translators for all those social parasites who come here but cannot even be bothered to learn the language.

The BBC sends practically their entire workforce to cover events like the Olympics or the US election when a minute proportion of viewers will watch it on the hour every hour. And so it goes.

PS Absolutely NO to Billie Piper as the first female Doctor Who.

On the other hand, if she does get the part, I´ll use that TV time for doing something more productive!

PPS I doubt Obama will lead anyone to the promised land. He is bound to disappoint because there are too many interests at stake. However, I would probably have voted for him (if I was a Yank!) because I think his colour needs to be addressed sooner or later. He will break their duck just as Hillary Clinton would have (for women) had she been in the running.
