Re care homes and my comment about participating: that naturally did not include those who are bedridden and cannot move or communicate easily. But then I doubt Lorna Page would want them as housemates, so presumably she was referring to brighter souls like herself.
Yes there are lonely souls, like Christine, who died while Ma was temporarily in one nursing home. She said she wished she had lots of `lovely daughters´ to visit her. But that is not a given with family or friends. There is an emotional, financial and energetic cost in being with the infirm and semi-communicative old, which is why we should not condemn those who find it difficult. And how many of us play our parts from guilt, thus perpetuating a negative metaphysical balance sheet.
On which: While I firmly believe in the metaphysical principles that in turn aid cosmic ordering, there is much more that is not so clear cut. Positive thinking, thankfulness and thinking rich to be rich definitely play a part, but are not the full story, as I try to make clear in Profit From Unlimited Thinking. You have only to read tales of Sean Connery as a small example.
If the stories are true, this seems to be a man with a poverty consciousness, apparent lack of generosity and resentment at life, who nonetheless has claimed many of life´s rich prizes. How so? Possibly through his sublimely arrogant self-belief… a fundamental element in keeping the channel open. Doubt is like putting your foot on the hosepipe of life.
Am still less than 100% and struggling to focus today… meaning focus on my work. Ma is currently centre stage with us all, and I will be checking out a care home for her tomorrow. That´s if they will take her. Nothing is straightforward when mental illness is involved. Hope my readers will say a prayer for her and us.
As an empath, I can pick up all sorts of energetic odds and ends. Some photos, for example, have strong energies, as if I am tuning directly into the individual concerned. The nicest thing would be to say we both operate on different wavelengths. But, more truthfully, the received energies from some can be really quite negative. Like Eckhart Tolle and Camilla Parker Bowles.
Now there´s a thing: those two in the same bracket! Yet there is a serious discomfort which makes me want to cover the image or flick the page over. I hope no-one gets that from any of my mugshots!
What makes some gurus (ie a teacher, coach or guide - usually spiritual) hit the popularity button and not others? Obviously the Oprah factor plays a part. A classic case of mass mind manipulation - although that is not denigrating Tolle´s work. That said, I do find him to be an incredibly opaque writer. Yet the truths he shares are those which have been around for thousands of years. Perhaps that is what seekers want?
Oprah, a modern day thief of ancient esoterica (check dictionaries of quotes to see what I mean - okay so I´ve blown it now with her as a marketing tool!), professes that her favourite quote (from Tolle) is "Man made God in his own image".
If Tolle professes to teach the gospel of full self-awareness*, (in order to be aware of the inner self - which is part of the Source/God) then what comes next would and should be the important elements: that it is man´s ego that has interpreted `in his own image´ to mean looking like a human.
In fact Richard Dawkins probably is nearer to the mark when he says we are all interlinked, all from the same `tree´.
Where he and I depart is that the `tree´ is God and actually `tree´ is a pretty insubstantial description for something so infinitely complex; tangible yet intangible; personal yet with defined metaphysical principles.
*Aside from my self-awareness bypass idiom (usually re politicals), my definition of self-awareness is observing where our consciousness currently is. Is it lingering in the past or dreaming of a future, is it focused on an emotion or a physical ailment and so forth. And, in dispassionate observation, we discover that sense of infinity within our selves.
The really evolved can sense the intelligence in every cell - and that is `in his image´. How the cells form the whole is another divine mystery, although `attraction´ plays its part as do electro magnetic frequencies.
Anyway, I gather Tolle suggests shifting focus away from the mind (as a means of discovering this vibrant inner life).
Indeed, to do a `spot focus´ on the cellular activity in a subset of our bodies is a great way of shifting consciousness away from our minds (and can ease stress, btw).
On the other hand, sometimes that spot focus is forced on us by accidents (think broken fingers and toes - or even a paper cut!). Yet, the process does increase awareness of intelligence in each and every particle (or cell) (that makes us who we are). And, in that awareness we do get the briefest hint of being made in God´s image - NOT vice versa.
As I have not read that book (New Earth), I do not know what he follows that with: whether he has been misinterpreted, or has a different take on spiritual metaphysics from me. At any rate, and to repeat, the image of God is not of a human, except on a minute particle level. And those particles, of all created forms, come from the Divine Infinite. Which makes Richard Dawkins a prime theist, though he is probably unaware of it at the moment.
PS If some of this sounds garbled, I blame Judy´s cackling on the idiot box downstairs (cf Richard and Judy). Don´t these female TV presenters ever listen to themselves? Even the lovely Kate Garraway has a most unlovely guffaw.

Cool! really cool! Not only that a post you read on one breath - so grasps and it is interesting, but also besides also in a head something remains. Usually posts you forget, as soon as you leave an Internet, and here is over what to think. I continue to reflect over this information.
